In the last month, I have joined the NGO, THRIVE Project as a volunteer copywriter. My primary focus is working on SEO and KWA, copyediting articles and text before they are published, and leading the newsletter team. Leading the newsletter team involves assigning sections to different members so they can create the content, designing the newsletter in the provider, and this month (since I joined) I have totally overhauled the newsletter design.
I am also working closely with THRIVE Olympiad, creating resources and QCing (quality checking) content for schools in line with THRIVE's plans of partnering with the 2032 Brisbane Olympics. The other aspect I am involved with, the newest and potentially most exciting (for me) element of this new venture is THRIVE Publishing. This project is still fine-tuning regarding all the nuts and bolts, such as submission guidelines. THRIVE has recognised the value of fiction writing in teaching lessons about sustainability and discussing huge topics based on moral and ethical debates.
Last week I helped author and THRIVE team member, Marcus, finalise the cover for his book, 'The Jacksons' Debate'. If you’d like to read it, you can do so here: https://lnkd.in/gcR6KSqv

The cover was 90% there, it just needed some editing in terms of spacing, alignment, centralising, and then aligning with the pre-print template. Luckily, from my time with Short Run Press this concept was more familiar to me now.
I look forward to working with Marcus on future submissions to THRIVE Publishing.
Love this!
